A Victoria’s Secret model is suing the Embassy Suites by Hilton Palm Desert after being “massacred” by bedbugs

A Victoria’s Secret model is suing a Hilton owned hotel in Palm Springs California, over bedbugs that wreaked havoc over her body and career. Brazillian model Sabrina Jales St. Pierre was staying at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Palm Desert in 2016 when she discovered the angry red bites all over her arms, legs and back.

“Sabrina started noticing the bed bug bites after her first night in the hotel, and eventually she was massacred by bites covering pretty much her entire body,” her attorney, Brian Virag, founder of the My Bed Bug Lawyer, Inc. told the Desert Sun.

“Like most victims of bed bugs, Sabrina also had nightmares about the experience, and she still experiences psychological trauma and fear of bed bugs today,” he added. “This was especially traumatic for Sabrina because her body is her work, so this severely affected her work and her career. She had to continue working during the hotel stay, but the bite marks all over her body made her feel embarrassed, ashamed and humiliated.”

Jales St Pierre is seeking an unspecified amount of damages, but the hotel’s manager Carlos Mendoza, said that there was no evidence of bedbugs in the model’s room. He also revealed that checks of the room by the hotel staff as well as by outside pest control agents did not reveal any bedbugs.

“We did all the proper protocols and found no evidence,” he said. “Now we have to go through the lawsuit to defend the reputation of the hotel.”
