An Egyptian painting titled Les Chadoufs sells for $2.43 million


The Egyptians are known for their art and now the world just proved how well they understand and appreciate it. Egyptian master Mahmud Said’s work of art “Les Chadoufs” fetched 2.43 million dollars at a Dubai-based auction for Christie’s. Touted to fetch between $150,000 and$ 200,000, the painting picked up by an unknown buyer shoes Egyptian peasants drawing water from the river Nile.
