Dracula’s cape fetches $43,400 at auction


No other actor could have done justice to the role of Count Dracula the way Sir Christopher Lee did. Even after all these years, his performance still manages to send chills down our spine. The image of Sir Christopher Lee standing in his cape will be immortalized in our minds forever. Dracula fans everywhere still pay tribute to this legendary character by stepping out every Halloween dressed like the Count himself. But now one lucky guy can actually step out in the original cape worn by the actor in the 1958 movie! Angels the Costumiers sold the item at Bonham’s in Knightsbridge, central London. The cape which was expected to fetch between £20,000 ($32,100) and £30,000 ($49,400) was sold for £26,400 ($43,400)! The costume came with a black and white still image of Sir Christopher playing the iconic character. Sir Christopher has even signed a letter to confirm the garments authenticity. The amazing price fetched by the costume proves that Dracula is still our number vampire.
