Elvis Presley’s 1962 private jet is all set to go under the hammer

If airplanes and Rock and Roll both excite you equally, here’s a deal should miss at no cost. We are talking about Elvis Presley’s Private Jet’s that has recently hit the market for an estimated price of $206,000. After being left unattended on the runway in Roswell, New Mexico for nearly 30 years, Elvis’s beloved 1962 Lockhead Jetstar is now set to go under the hammer.

Currently being bid with Liveauctioneers.com, the jet dons a rusted interior and comes with red velvet seats, gold-tone hardware, woodwork, inlay and red carpets- all designed by the king of rock and roll himself. It was owned by Elvis and his father jointly and is the only one of the Rockstar’s private jets that is still available for sale. The dilapidated yet luxe plane hasn’t been restored ever since it was last owned by Elvis, and will be handed down to the new owner in the exact same condition. (We can’t say if that’s good news or bad!)

Since it is also one of the only 204 aircraft manufactured between 1957 and 1978 in a private project between Jetstar and Lockheed, it makes for one of the most anticipated jet sales in a long time. However, the airplane comes with a non-furbished cockpit minus engines and will need to be disassembled completely for being shipped on sale. Looks like even the most run down item with an Elvis touch can claim millions!
