James Bond’s “From Russia with Love” gun earns $437,000 under Christie’s hammer

If any movie ends up with a rich list of memorabilia that people fall over to buy, even through an auction, James Bond flicks top that list for sure! While spies and villains rule the roast, no 007 was as popular as Sean Connery. And after his Aston Martin DBS, it was another Connery-Bond memorabilia that took Christie’s by storm, his 007 “From Russia with Love” gun. Touted to be the most popular film of the Bond franchise the pistol was held by Connery in the publicity poster for the movie. Estimated between $23,600 and $31,500, the gun sold for a staggering $437,000, thanks to some ferocious bidding: earning a massive 14 times its originally estimated worth.

Owned by the photographer of the shoot, the golden gun was used as a last resort measure as the Walther PPK pistol to be used didn’t make it on time.
