Our best picks from the upcoming mammoth Star Wars toy auction

December 11th will be a day the real fanboys will set their financial accounts in place and keep their eyes peeled for the best price they could derive off this unbelievable auction. Japanese designer Nigo who is the fan of the series himself is taking a collection to Sotheby’s for one of the greatest Star Wars collectibles auction. Thanks to ‘The Force Awakens’ release we have more Star Wars things to look forward to in the next few months, however, not many things would get a fan worked up like this auction here. The auction largely comprises of vintage Star Wars collectibles. These could be things that were cool to collect even before Star Wars collages were in vogue.

Nigo and Sotheby’s will bring forth the decades-old collection of the former, which will include plush toys, action figures, lightsabers, helmets and even trading cards. Nigo said, “As a designer, I have always been inspired by Star Wars. I am honored to be launching this sale and hope that it will bring excitement to Star Wars fans around the world,”

Our picks from the collection include the 1979 six Star Wars 21-Back Action Figures, the 1983 General Madine Action Figure, The ‘New Hope’ Elite Han Solo Blaster, Master Replica from 2002, the walking wind-up R2-D2 action figure from 1978, the 1997 cookie jars dedicated to the princess, C3PO and Chewy, The 1978 Chewbacca 42-inch plus store display and a 1978 Luke Skywalker with a double-telescoping saber. Pure Gold!
