A pair of ultra rare Air Jordan 11 sneakers got auctioned for $23,000

Michael Jordan’s sneaker line is sure to have several takers. While most of us look forward to purchasing a new pair of the Air Jordan 11, collectors seem to be more interested in finding the rare versions of the brand. With its patent leather uppers, the Jordan label is a craved luxury for shoe lovers and is reasonably affordable unless it’s a retro edition like the ‘Twilight Blue’ that recently went on eBay for a whopping $23,000.

As far as this rare ‘Air Jordan 11’ is concerned, it was manufactured in the year 2000 in a classic blue colorway. What makes the shoe unique though is the JORDAN lettering on it’s eyelets, a detail that was last seen on the unreleased samples of 2006’s DMP Jordan 11 release. Since the original ‘DMP’ series was un-shelved, many have waited to procure their own JORDAN-stamped sneakers. And it’s probably this mass yearning that led the seller to tag the ‘Twilight Blue’ with a gigantic price on eBay.

The sneakers showcase a white and blue colorway with the player’s name also appearing on the eyelets in the latter shade. The 2000 edition also bears the leather uppers and is a steal for ardent Jordan fans. Others however, can buy the soon-to-be released ‘Air Jordan 11- Midnight Navy’ for a comparatively meagre price of $220 instead.
