Rare 1959 250 GT Series 1 Cabriolet expected to fetch $2.2million

Vintage car collectors are a lucky lot this season. Besides Bonhams, Gooding & Company’s Scottsdale sale too is expected to feature some of the rarest cars. The car that promises to bowl over collectors at the Scottsdale sale is the 1959 250 GT Series 1 Cabriolet. One of only 40 Series 1Pininfarina Cabriolets ever built, it was shipped to the United States immediately after completion to be displayed on Ferrari’s New York Auto Show stand. The rare beauty is expected to fetch over $2.2 Million! The sale marks the first time one of the coveted models has crossed the auction block in many years. Besides this exclusive beauty, the other cars to be featured in this sale that is scheduled for 23rd January include a 1956 Jaguar D-Type Sports Racer, , expected to fetch above $3.5 million; and a 1959 Costin Lister Jaguar Sports Racer, estimated at $1.5 million.
