Sotheby’s to put handwritten John Lennon lyrics under the hammer, touted to fetch $700,000

Handwriting is the mirror to a person’s personality. And if it’s the writings of cult hero like John Lennon even a piece of paper becomes keepsake! Well, a double-sided paper sheet with the lyrics to the Beatles number A Day in the Life will go under the hammer at Sotheby’s. Written in felt marker and blue ink, along with corrections and notes about the track, the paper is touted to fetch up to $700,000. The song is said to be “the revolutionary song that marked The Beatles’ transformation from pop icons to artists”.
