What could be more extraordinary than 4 foot high ancient Chinese vases? It is the price they fetched at a recent London auction. The buyer is none other than the Casino magnate Steve Wynn. His company Wynn Resorts Ltd bought four of these huge Jiaqing period Chinese vases for an impressive price of $12.8 million. Wynn who owns several casinos in the Las Vegas area has a reputation for collecting fine art. The vases date from the late 1700s and early 1800s and are decorated with Buddhist and Taoist emblems. A spokesman for the company announced that these vases will be on display at the new Cotai Resort Hotel, in Macau which is scheduled to open in 2015.
