Titanic connection: Waltham American Pocket watch Up for Auction

Carl Asplund, one of the thousands who drowned as ‘Titanic’, the maiden ship hit an iceberg on April 14th 1912, is committed to memory through his souvenir, the Waltham American Pocket watch which is now on auction put up by Henry Aldridge and Son Auctioneers in Devizes, Wiltshire. The watch put up on auction after the death of Lillian, 99 (daughter of Carl) is said to fetch nearly about $30,000-$39,000) The Lilian Asplund compilation which constitutes a Ticket (one of the only four left in the world), poignant family photos, and wedding rings, is estimated to fetch about $298,480 in the 19th April auction. Lillian Asplund, then only 5, survived the doomed voyage, which caused the death of her father and 3 siblings along with 1500 other people.
