World’s most expensive chocolate egg is up for sale

Master pastry chef Jacques Torres in an attempt to break the Guinness world record for Most Expensive Chocolate Egg sold at auction, will offer his latest creation on April 18 at the Rockfeller Center. Weighing approximately 120 lbs, the chocolate egg will auction off for charity in an attempt to break the world record currently set at $11,000 by William Curley.

Measuring 30 inches tall, the gigantic egg made from Jacques Torres famous milk chocolate depicts the iconic landmarks and buildings of the New York City.
The colossal egg molded by artist Carter Jones is part of the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, a charitable event of Easter eggs being displayed around the city, all made by different artists.

Around 200 eggs are on display until April 17, followed by which they will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
