Christian Louboutin when designed his first Pensee shoe in 1992, used a jar of nail varnish to paint the red sole. Twenty-two years later, French designer has come full circle by launching a nail polish collection, inspired by the iconic stilettos. The French fashion house is expanding the Rouge Louboutin nail paint collection that was launched last month by adding more colors.
“The red sole was born from red nail polish. I am giving back to the nails what the shoe took from the nails many years ago,” says Chrisitian Louboutin. The Rouge Louboutin is to nails what Ballerina Ultima is to the feet. The iconic Rouge is encased in a faceted glass bottle with a tall slender cap to evoke the image of the classic Ballerina Ultima’s dramatic 8-inch heel.
The Rouge Louboutin collection comes in three different color families: Pop, Nude and Noir. It has highly pigmented, super glossy formula to deliver in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer. The patented triangular brush picks up the right amount of formula, without air bubbles, to deliver flawless, chip-resistant coverage. It comes housed inside presentation box with a red reveal.
Each of the 13ml Rouge Louboutin nail lacquer costs $50. For complete nail care, Christian Louboutin is also offering a Manicure Care Kit, with a price tag of $55.
