French beauty brand Lancôme has created enough ripples with its top-notch products and exclusive make-up launches in recent times. However, none of that seems enough for the cosmetic giant who recently bagged a world record for ‘matching the maximum number of people with the brand’s foundation’ for Guinness.
For bagging the coveted world title, Lancôme’s dynamic team of ten makeup artists did up the faces of over a thousand individuals, all within the time span of 8 hours. The challenge aimed to promote the brand’s iconic Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24h Long Wear Foundation, which was extensively lathered up on the participants at the event. Contributors to the challenge also received a 10-day sample of the Teint Idole Ultra Foundation match each, along with a chance to win a grand prize worth up to $500 of Lancôme products.
The event took place at the at the High Line at Hudson Yards in New York City on July 12, with Lancôme setting a novel standard for rival brands in the industry. While the target was set at 1200 individuals, the marquee outdid its self by matching 1,327 faces with its iconic foundation range. For cleverly marketing its products and bagging a world record, this Guinness event has sure been a double whammy for Lancôme!
