Known the world over for the creative and novel makeup looks and high quality (and high priced!) makeup products, Pat McGrath puts the ART in makeup artist. Unlike other brands, her launches are few and usually far between with each product being carefully conceptualized with a story behind it. The British make-up maven has collaborated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art over a limited edition range of products that will become the first makeup to ever be sold in their gift shop.
The Pat McGrath Labs x The Met collection includes a special edition of the Mothership IV: Decadence Eyeshadow palette as well as a new Lust: Gloss (lip gloss) shade called Aliengelic. The packaging for these items will be inspired by The Met’s “Heavenly Bodies” collection. For the new makeup, Pat was inspired by Renaissance and Baroque paintings. “The Costume Institute’s exhibitions are legendary, and I am thrilled to be able to present this exclusive range of products inspired by this prestigious exhibition,” she said, “Religious history and artifacts have always been vital influences on my work, and it is an extraordinary honor for me to be unveiling these new pieces alongside this breathtaking exhibition as the first-ever beauty brand at New York’s iconic Met Store.”
