Parisian luxury house Hermès is dipping its toes in the beauty segment, and we’re so excited! Come 2020, Hermès is all set to curate a beauty line for its ardent admirers seeking a high-end beauty experience.
Axel Duamas, manager of the group who is overseeing the entire project, mentioned in an interview with French newspaper Le Monde in April last year: “In the long term, it will be necessary for us to be present in all three segments of the markets for cosmetics, perfume, makeup and personal care products. That would give us a sufficient distribution presence.”
Industry specialists received a confirmation in Rome by the second-in-command at Hermès, Guillaume de Seyne, at the nomadic exhibition “Hermès hors les murs” event.
Almost 5 years back in 2014, the house of Hermès gave a push to their fragrance line after perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena was roped in. Ellena was succeeded by Christine Nagel in 2016 with the title of ‘exclusive perfumer. Although Duamas gave an interview last year about the brand’s vision, one would have definitely expected Hermès to diversify across various channels and segments, mainly the beauty segment given its recent upward trend.
