YSL looks into the future of makeup application with Google Glass

Forget tutorials and in-store demonstrations; the future of makeup application comes in Google’s high-tech glasses. Yves Saint Laurent is taking geek chic to whole new level by offering customers a customized how-to video of their step-by-step application created by their makeup artist. The brand’s beauty pros will record the application process wearing Google Glass, which have a camera and screen built into them. The video along with personal tips and tricks will be emailed in video format to customers.

Currently the brand will only be offering the service at the Bloomingdale’s 59th Street location in New York. Customers can hover down the tutorial menu to choose from All Day Perfection Complexion Makeover or Couture Eyes Makeover video options. Each of the video tutorials will begin with skincare prep essentials like cleansing and toning.
