A unique view of the Melbourne cityscape via a glass cube

Melbourne is a cool city to hang out in down under. This garden city is often referred to as the “sporting and cultural capital” of Australia. The best way to enjoy the city view these days is from this specially constructed glass-floored cube that is literally hanging from the side of Melbourne’s tallest building. The Edge at Eureka is a horizontal elevator that serves as an observation deck. It is situated on the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower apartment block in Southbank. It has the capacity to carry 12 people at a time and the ride lasts for about five minutes. Like project director James Cockburn states “It’s a glass box that’s sitting on wheels and we’re rolling it out from the building.” For the faint-hearted, you can venture out on the Eureka Skydeck 88 observation deck which offers views of Melbourne’s major attractions.

The Edge at Eureka is open till May 15th. A trip to the observation deck costs
A trip on the elevator will cost $16.50 but if you want to venture out to the Edge then you will have to shell out $12 more.
