Prime Minister of Qatar purchases a $47 million townhouse in New York

This is an example of how even the most powerful and wealthy could be in trouble for having a whole entourage for a family. Qatari Prime Minister Sheik Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani who has two wives and over a dozen children was almost going to close in on the $100 million penthouse at One57, but the negotiations fell through over the handling of the Sheik’s massive family. After a lot of difficulty, the Sultan has finally purchased a luxury condominium on W. 57th St. for $47 million. The townhouse is a 45-foot-wide townhouse built in 1922 and measuring approximately 21,000 square-feet.
The townhouse has a grand marble-arched entryway and curved main staircase. It once housed the 2009 Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club Designer Show House.
