The Strata Tower in Abu Dhabi – An architectural miracle

Don’t get your hopes high to get your bookings, it is not yet complete. It is an underconstruction hotel expected to open sometime in 2011. The Strata Tower, a forty-story luxury residential building is Abu Dhabi’s answer to making an architectural statement, which has so far been the forte of its northerly neighbor, Dubai.Designed by New York-based architects Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote. Asymptote used state-of-the-art, advanced computer modeling tools to create the tower’s curvaceous and innovative design, including a cantilevered exoskeleton structure that allows generous amounts of light to bathe the building’s interiors.
