Tokyo’s skyline is set to dazzle with a new tower featuring a 3,000 sqm rooftop plaza

Tokyo is all set to welcome its latest skyscraper to its bustling skyline, a 230-meter tower that will offer 360 degree views across the Japanese capital. Presented by Tokyu corporation, SANAA, Kengo Kuma and Nikken will oversee the tower’s design, which is slated for completion by 2019, ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.

The new tower will be located in Tokyo’s Shibuya district and its unique design feature will be the rooftop plaza, spread over 3,000 square meters. The public sky deck promises its visitors sweeping vistas of some of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, including views of Mt. Fuji – on a clear day. Beneath the landscaped sky deck, the mixed-use tower will host a variety of retail outlets, offices and other cultural draws.
