Jay Z is now the proud owner of the Armand de Brignac Champagne brand

When you find a bottle of champagne you really like, what do you do? Buy a couple of bottles for the house? Maybe wait for a sale or promotion so you can hoard a few more? If you’re Jay-Z though, you pretty much buy the entire champagne company. The hip hop legend (and husband of Beyoncé) has recently purchased the Armand de Brignac brand from NY based Sovereign Brands. Jay Z has long been a fan of the product, having featured it in his 2006 music video “Show Me What You Got,” as well has having a tower of 350 bottles of Armand de Brignac at a 2012 fund raiser.

It’s probably just a smart business decision for the music moghul considering the champagne – known colloquially as “Ace of Spades”- is popular in nightclubs and among big name athletes, but the rapper does have a history with the brand considering he switched to it soon after beginning his boycott of Cristal champagne after the latter snubbed it’s legion of hip hop fans.

All in all, we predict that Jay Z will soon be making a pretty penny thanks to this new investment. Ace of Spades sells for around $300 per bottle and is patronized by a list of celebrities that includes Leonardo DiCaprio.
