Katrina Kaif is the face of Kohl’s special limited edition cover

Katrina Kaif has a hot face and it features on the cover of Damas-designed Kohl, a recently launched ITP lifestyle magazine, that is made specially for asian women. It is said to be the world’s most expensive magazine and is partnered with the jewellery brand, Damas. It’s crazy to think that just a mere magazine is covered in 91 grams of gold and encrusted with 622 diamonds, I mean it is just a magazine for god’s sake. The ridiculously bejewelled special edition cover is worth over $10,000 and will be auctioned for the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center in October 2008(whew, at least it is for a good cause). The front cover image has been shot by Ashutosh Gowariker, and it does make one of the hottest bollywood ladies, Katrina kaif look absolutely stunning. She is quoted saying, “I am very proud and excited to be involved with this project, it is a wonderful idea and all for a very worthwhile cause.” This blinged up cover is set to be showcased at many of the Damas stores throughout the GGC till October. “Damas has created hundreds of unique pieces throughout our decades in business, but a magazine cover has been a creative and interesting challenge for us – we are extremely proud to be a part of this historic occasion. The gold Kohl project not only recognizes the importance of the Asian community in the UAE, but also supports a worthy cause. It is a great honour for Damas to create such a unique and prestigious piece, which signifies our commitment to the art of beauty relevant to society,” said Tamjid Abdullah, Deputy Managing Director, Damas. The magazine editor is Faarah Mehta and she was all praise for it and the idea of a gold and diamonds cover.

Kohl was made public for the first time on 24th June and it wow’ed everybody. This event took place in Borders outlet in Mall of the Emirates. I would never spend so much on a silly magazine cover, but hey if you have the money, do it for a good cause.
