The material girl still rules the material world by topping the list of Forbes’ magazine Cash Queens of Music. The 49 year old singer is earning $US 72 million (£36.2million) in a recent 12-month period. The Frozen singer’s personal fortune was boosted by her successful ‘Confessions Tour’, which raked in a staggering £130million worldwide. Madonna has also benefited financially from working with high street fashion chain H+M, general record sales and her deal with US broadcaster NBC for the rights to air her concert from London’s Wembley Arena.
Following her on the list we have the oldest of the lot, Barbra Streisand, 65. at £30.1million ($60 million), she stands second. The Woman In Love star remains one of the most successful female entertainers in the world, having sold more than 145 million albums worldwide. On the third place, we have Celine Dion aged 39, with £22.6million ($45 million). The My Heart Will Go On singer’s fortune was boosted by her five-year Las Vegas residency, which ended last December.
Rounding out the top five were Colombian singing sensation Shakira at No. 4 with $US38 million and R&B singer Beyonce with $US27 million. Britney fans would be sad to know that their idol was at No. 14 on the list.
