The oligarch is definitely making sure the world’s most expensive yacht lives up to its title. The latest buzz is that Roman Abramovich has bought 35 contemporary artworks for his luxury yacht. According to Joseph Clarke, director of Millennium, the purchases came through Terence Disdale, who designs the interiors of Abramovich’s yachts. The Millennium transactions are worth 200,000 pounds ($326,000), bought over six months, said Clarke.

Disdale, as well as Abramovich’s public relations head, refused to comment on this issue. Artworks that will be housed in the super luxurious Eclipse yacht include sculptures by Millennium’s Simon Allen, known for producing gilded wall reliefs resembling over-sized jewelry, as well as minimalist abstract paintings by Trevor Bell.
The Eclipse promises to “eclipse” every other luxury liner with its grandeur and magnificence.
