Maison Edouard François to grace Gurgaon with a trio of skyscrapers

trio-1Gurgaon is already recognized as Delhi’s shinier, more experimental sibling. Now it stands to be deemed more luxurious too. For, adding to its arch-chic is Maison Edouard François’ newest project. Called Gurgaon 66 from its Sector-66 spot in the locality, the trio of stainless-steel clad skyscrapers will not only boast a hotel, a multiplex cinema and an apartment complex but thanks to the massive luxe-o-sphere, NCR dwellers shall have their first brush with European opulence.

trio-2Grouped along the mall axis in a manner resembling a traditional European neighborhood, shopping “embassies” will form a commercial complex on the ground floor of the main building. One might think Leela Ambience comes close, what with the hotel and residences sharing a wall with the Ambience group’s swanky mall. We say almost. Gurgaon 66 with its glass-canopied commercial center will regale the local junta with the greatest international names in fashion after all.

trio-3Fendi and Chanel will get independent marble buildings. Of course! Ask a Delhi girl just HOW much sense that makes! Meanwhile, even epicures have plenty of reason to rejoice. The roofs of the shops will be utilized as restaurant space, and will be connected to each other by elevated footbridges just in case one wishes to bistro hop. It is amazing how everything is so neatly segregated, for once. Or at least rouses the hope of being.

trio-4The architects refer to the multi level arrangement as “an exterior landscape that is air-conditioned and unified beneath the glass canopy of the mall.” Moving up, one will find space for residential areas and a hotel. At the top of each tower will be public features such as pools, gardens, and bars, connected via misted suspension bridges between towers. But, and this is the greatest news, at least for the green-loving among us, Gurgaon 66 will be the first LEED Platinum-certified building in India.
