Alexander Wang takes over Bergdorf Goodman’s iconic Fifth Avenue store

Alexander Wang’s edgy yet minimal designs have been a hit with New Yorkers for years and the designer is now cementing his status as an NY darling by taking over one of the city’s most famous department stores: Bergdorf Goodman. Wang has already decorated two of the department store’s Fifth Avenue windows with an installation that’s inspired by “the bedroom of a sneakerhead.” Wang’s S/S 2015 collection was full of accessories inspired by iconic sneakers like Air Jordans and Stan Smiths and the installation is fittingly brimming with key pieces from the sporty-luxe line. One window is dressed in tennis inspired whites and greens while the second is a darker experiment of reds and blacks.

Bergdorf Good man will also be offering exclusive access to apparel and handbags from the Spring 2015 runway collection and the T by Alexander Wang Spring 2015 range through a pop up store on the fifth floor. Additionally Wang’s barcode logo will be projected onto the Fifth Avenue façade of the store after dark. This will be the first such projection in the history of the store. True Wang fans will be thrilled to learn that purchases over $500 at the pop up store will earn you sweet extras like collectible packaging and a complimentary USB flash drive with a playlist curated by Alexander Wang and DJ Jesse Marco.
