Bottega Veneta unveils eco-friendly hand-bags
Till now you might have adored the Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta for the style it brings to collection of apparels and other luxury goods through the use of leather material. But the recently unveiled hand-bags by Bottega Veneta are different and we tell you why! The latest style statement for these bags does not revolves around holding a swanky, chic handbag but the one that takes care of mother earth i.e. an eco-friendly hand-bag. These handbags launched in-front of the press during the Cruise 2013 presentation in May are crafted using sustainable, vegan materials and environmentally sensitive dyeing and finishing processes that share the modest elegant and signature design details of Bottega Veneta’s renowned leather goods. The Carta Giapponese clutch is shaped out of tightly woven washi, which is a delicate paper obtained from the bark of the fast-growing kozo tree.
Taking a cue from what customers are demanding leather alternatives these days, Bottega Veneta Creative Director Tomas Maier said, “I decided to make the jersey and paper bags after speaking with customers who wanted sophisticated, handcrafted bags that are non-leather and earth-friendly.” He further added, “We are a luxury lifestyle brand known for our handcrafted leather goods—obviously we don’t claim to be vegan.
However, it is anticipated that these handbags will appear in store in late fall. On the other hand, especially for Fashion’s Night Out, a special group of 100 bags are being offered for pre-release sale in select Bottega Veneta boutiques globally. Handcrafted by the brand’s artisans in Vicenza to the same exacting standards as all other Bottega Veneta products these bags are ideal for who people who want to flaunt fashion the eco-friendly way. No doubt fashion centric people always have something new to discover and this one is no different.
