Coach is celebrating their 75th anniversary with not one but two impressive collections. The handbag hunters had better sit up and take notice, because both capsule collection will be dedicated to Coach’s classic handbags.
The first collection revisits the house’s creations from the ’70s and ‘80s and gives these old school carryalls a new lease on life. Titled Coach Vintage Collection, the line includes three handbags styles with bags sourced from all over the world and then customized to fit a modern sensibility. The classic Dinky, Stewardess and Duffle bags get made over with fringe details, leather patches and colored stripes. Prices start at $595; Coach Vintage is exclusive to Barneys, available in store and online.
Meanwhile, Coach’s second collection features a collaboration with Opening Ceremony that has resulted in bags that are anything but traditional. Coach 1941 x Opening Ceremony features Coach’s 1960s handbag silhouettes in ditzy floral prints, animal print calf hair and smooth leather. The colelctionw as inspired by American prairie prints seen on the Coach Spring 2016 runway and Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers’ debut Coach 1941 collection. Coach’s famous Cashin Carry has been reimagined for this series alongside frame bags and small clutches and pouches. Prices range from $165 to $995 and the collection is available for purchase at openingceremony.com
