Dolce and Gabbana celebrate moms in their Fall 2015 collection

Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have paid tribute to mothers with their latest collection. Their Fall 2015 collection which debuted in Milan featured a slew of models clad in dresses featuring pictures of the Madonna and Child, sweaters embroidered with “ti amo Mamma,” and prints derived from drawings by the designers’ own nieces and nephews. Three models walked the runway with their children who were also clad in Dolce outfits and one model flaunted her baby bump in a maternity dress. The show was called “Viva la mamma” and according to the designer duo, it explored the mother’s role as the heart of the family.

The clothes themselves were feminine and wearable, with black and pink being the standout colors alongside floral prints and appliqués on familiar shifts, midi length and body con dresses and brightly colored fit and flare dresses. With the Spice Girls’ hit “Mama” playing in the background, Dolce and Gabbana treated attendees to a celebration of motherhood. The designers admitted to drawing on their relationships with their own mothers for inspiration and wanted to tell a story of love, positivity, and family.
