Glenmorangie and Finlay & Co. debut sunglasses made from whisky barrels

Get ready to view life through a very rosy lens. Glenmorangie, makers of single malt Scotch whisky have collaborated with Finlay & Co. to create a pair of wooden sunglasses made from whisky barrels. Called the Glenmorangie Originals, the sunglasses feature a classic Ledbury shaped frame carved out of barrels that once held whisky and are priced at £300 (about $420). They’ve supposedly been handcrafted in Britain using a 16 step craftsman process.

Surprisingly the sunglasses are pretty tasteful and they don’t even bear the distillery’s logo. If you weren’t in on the secret, they would probably look like one of Finlay & Co.’s regular wooden sunglasses. The limited edition sunglasses are individually numbered and can be engraved or personalized with a prescription lens.
