Karl Lagerfeld’s black diamond collar is one-off fashion piece

Karl Lagerfeld is proved time and again with his creations why he is one of the best designers in the world today. After dabbling with interiors and even helicopter designing, he is now dabbling with jewels. The Chanel fashion mogul has designed an opulent piece of jewelry that has an asking price of £29,000 ($45,600)! The piece of high-end jewelry is a neckpiece that glitters with 40 carat black diamonds, as well as a giant emerald centerpiece set in black rhodium-plated silver.

Accompanying the neckpiece will be a hand-signed sketch from Mr. Lagerfeld himself. The one-off creation will be on display from June 28 – July 4 at the diamond exhibition Brilliant, held as part of the Masterpiece London Fair in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year, before being sold. A percentage of profits from the sale will be donated to children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
