LL Armcandy of the week: Gucci’s rubber tote that doubles as an ice bucket!

Gucci’s handbag designs have taken a sharp left turn away from high fashion and moved towards high utility. Recently the brand debuted this leather tote bag that’s not as much a statement bag as it is a shopping bag, and now the maison is at it again with their rubber logo top handle tote. With its oval base and classic wide shape, this bag references the nostalgia of the seventies and eighties and works great a carryall for any occasion from a beach day to a weekend vacation.

But unlike other functional totes, this one is made from 100% rubber which makes it conveniently waterproof. Take it to the beach and cram it with ice to keep your rosé cool, or make it the ice box at your pool party this summer. It’s not often that designers give us a tote bag that can double up as an ice bucket and we plan to use it all summer long!

Of course, it wouldn’t be Gucci without some cool references so look out for words like “Guccification,” “Sine Amore Nihil,” “Summer MMXVII” and “XXV” that are embossed on the base. Each word is a code that holds special meaning to the House. The bag is priced at $980 and is available in four colors: red, yellow, black and pale pink. If you’ve been eyeing the pink one, better buy it quick that shade will probably be in high demand.
