Louis Vuitton has spent the past few years upping their game in the home design category and this season, the brand has roped in fresh talent to design what they call “a collection of travel-inspired objects celebrating the encounter between savoir-faire and design”.
Called Les Petits Nomades, the collection explored Louis Vuitton’s favorite theme: luxury travel.
Humberto & Fernando Campana, Atelier Oï, Patricia Urquiola and Marcel Wanders are among the designers who worked on the designs for the collection.
The Tropicalist Vase by Humberto & Fernando Campana was made using 176 two-tone, leather-covered metal petals. It is inspired by South American quesnalia and bromeliad flowers.
Meanhile Patricia Urquiola’s Overlay bowls are comprised of four overlapping sheets of coloured leather with contrasting edges.
Dutch designer Marcel Wanders created the Diamond Mirror, available in both large and small sizes.
The items were on display at Milan design week presentation and they demonstrated Louis Vuitton’s commitment not just to fashion but also design and artistry.
