Luxury e-tailer Net-a-Porter sets shop in the US


Net-a-Porter is now going places, literally! After enjoying much of its success in the UK, the online retailer has finally opened its new headquarters in the US. Located in New York City, founder Natalie Massenet (Pictured Above) went over personally to oversee the new US offices’ opening. Before opening its own office on foreign soil, they tested waters by first inaugurating a newly renovated 250,000-square-foot distribution center at Mahwah, New Jersey. You can find every fashion item available from the brand under one roof. The center also houses its customer care, desktop support, strategic programs, operations, finance, and human resources departments. If you live in Hong Kong, then an office and distribution center will open there next year in all likelihood.

The brand, as per Massenet, has grown a 73 percent growth rate year-over-year in the US, with 25,000 new customers and over 6.5 million page views per month worldwide. The smartphone and tablet revolution has also helped the brand, as 60 percent of customers actively use smartphones, with 20 – 30 percent transactions done through a phone or tablet.
