Pharell is the first man to feature in a handbag campaign for Chanel

Chanel is diversifying the lineup of famous faces in their campaigns by throwing musician Pharell Williams into the mix. The Happy singer will feature alongside Cara Delevingne, Kristen Stewart, and Caroline de Maigret in a Spring 2017 campaign for a new handbag.

Each of the stars was shot separately for the campaign by photographer Karl Largerfeld and Pharell will be the first man to ever feature in a Chanel’s handbag campaign. The ad itself is for the brand’s new Gabrielle bag, which as the name suggests, is a tribute to the founder of the famous label.

While Pharell may be new to the handbag ad game, he along with Kristen, Cara and Maigret are Chanel veterans who have featured in campaigns or walked the ramp on many occasions. The other Chanel face – Lili Rose Depp- will appear in another campaign for the brand’s iconic No. 5 fragrance.
