Just last month Rimowa put out an impressive campaign featuring celebrities like Karl Lagerfeld, Martha Stewart, and Carine Roitfeld, the brand is already making waves again with a collaboration with another LVHM company: Fendi.
Together the brands have created an aluminum suitcase covered with Fendi’s signature double F logo. The cabin friendly case features a brushed exterior which allows the case to look different in varying lighting conditions. Its black Cuoio Romano leather handles on the top and side offer a sharp but welcome contrast against the yellow web belt that runs along the middle of the case. On the inside, a black neoprene lining with black-on-black embossed FF logo and the introduction of the Flex-Divider system keeps things luxe but functional.
The bag is part of 80th-anniversary celebrations at the luggage company and it feels like a good fit for both brands. “At Rimowa, we stand for design, durability, and craftsmanship,” said chief executive officer Alexandre Arnault. “A large part of our clients come from the fashion industry. Therefore, we wanted to get closer to a fashion brand in order to mix our worlds perfectly. Fendi seemed like the perfect partner, given their DNA and appetency to make fun things. The case we have come up with is a true incarnation of what we do best, and what they do best. Our design and manufacturing teams worked closely together all along the process.”
The suitcase will be available for purchase at Fendi and Rimowa boutiques and on Fendi.com from November 27.
