The making of Hermes Kelly bag by leather artisan Pierre Grosperrin

Pierre Grosperrin has been working for Hermes for the past 14 years. At the Festival des Metiers Exhibition, New York, he reveals that the handle of the Kelly is one of the most difficult to make. Though each Kelly bag takes about 18-20 hours, with every texture and detail in place, it takes about four hours to craft the handle only. Watch the video that exhibits Pierre’s endeavor to shape out this renowned bag with expertise. The iconic Kelly bag was introduced in the 1930s and named after Grace Kelly.
