Vertu may have bowed out of the luxury cellphone market, but other brands are only just sinking their teeth into this niche. Lamborghini, usually in the news for their cars, has launched an Android smartphone called the Alpha One. The phone is available exclusively at Harrods in London and is priced at $2,450.
The exterior of the phone boasts an Italian handmade leather finish with gold-plated stainless steel surrounding the phone. It comes with a custom Italian leather phone case. The phone also uses the same liquid alloy used in Lamborghini’s cars which makes it more resistant to scratches, dents, chemicals, and corrosion.
The specs, as with all luxury phones, are nothing to rave about. They include a 5.5-inch WQHD, 2560×1440 display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 3,250mAh battery, Dual SIM card support, and a fingerprint scanner. But let’s just say it, nobody is buying a Lamborghini phone for its cutting edge technology.
