Samsung’s 105-inch ultra-wide curved UHDTV goes on sale for $120,000

In January this year, two of the biggest Korean consumer electronics companies entered into the war of ultimate curved UHD TV. Just ahead of 2014 CES, both LG and Samsung had announced the launch of their own gigantic 105-inch curved 4K resolution TVs which were later revealed at the show. While LG’s $70,000 105UC9 TV is yet to go on sale, Samsung has announced that its mammoth-sized 105-inch UN105S9W television is now available for preorder. With what Samsung describes as currently the world’s largest curved-screen UHDTV offering the ultimate immersive experience, it carries a price tag of $120,000 making it one of the most expensive TVs on sale currently.

The curved Samsung UN105S9W TV is ‘made to order’ and features a curved 4K-compatible LCD screen and a beautiful wood-finish back. Each customer will also get a visit from a Samsung expert to help them set up the TV personally demonstrate the TV’s myriad capabilities. The TV also features Samsung’s proprietary UHD Dimming and Precision Black, which promise deeper blacks and brighter whites, and a Quad Screen mode. Despite of the steep price-tag, the company confirmed that it had already sold 10 of them to customers in the Middle East within 24 hours.
