The Consumer Electronic Show has seen dearth of Android releases thus far but we did manage to catch a glimpse of something more closer to the world of smart devices. The Samsung Gear S2 rolled out with nothing too elaborate other than an ornate rose gold and platinum bodies. The rose gold variant has 18k gold employed in the design that is rather endearing to the eyes.
There are some complications added to the face the watch, including moon phases, date and steps. Each of the faces can be customized to suit the mood, occasion and style of the moment. A discreet notification pops up letting users know each time they miss a notification. A smooth turn of the bezel updates users on the missed notifications. This is rather rad and reminds us of something that the ‘Connected’ from Tag Heuer carried.
Other launches at the CES 2016 in Vegas that came close to smart wearables were the launches by Huawei who also took the luxury route with the Elegant and Jewel models. These came with rose gold and Swarovski gemstones in the build.
The Samsung Gear S2 will be release in the first quarter of 2016.
