Sharp announces Aquos D64U super slim LCD TV’s


A couple of days ago Sharp announced their new D64U line of Aquos LCD TVs at the Rockefeller Center’s Top of the Rock. The highlight of the event was that the new TVs are about 25% slimmer (only 3 1/3 inch thick) than the previous model and look sleek. According to Sharp their TVs are so slim that their 42″ into the space that a regular 40 incher would fit. Sharp also titillated the guests with their 65″ model but gave no further details.

Sharp’s D64U line of Aquos LCD TV will be available from this month. The 42″ will sell for $2099, the 46″ will sell for $2699 and the 52″ will sell for $3799.

• 10,000:1 contrast ratio
• 176-degree viewing angle
• 3 HDMI 1.3 inputs
• 2 component inputs
• 3 composite inputs
• 1 S-video inputs
• Dedicated PC input

• Energy Star qualified, and power consumption is lower than previous AQUOS models
