Steinway & Sons commemorates John Lennon’s 70th birthday with Imagine Series Limited Edition piano

The euphoria the name John Lennon creates even today, years after his death, is proof enough of the musical genius that he was. To salute the late Beatles legend and commemorate his 70th birthday, Steinway & Sons has unveiled the Imagine Series Limited Edition piano. The limited edition commemorative piano series is styled after the white Steinway grand piano that John Lennon gifted Yoko Ono on her birthday in 1971, which is still in their residence in Manhattan. The music desk of each piano in this series integrates one of the four different John Lennon original drawings. Besides this, the other Lennon features you will find on this limited edition series of pianos include an elegant display of the lyrics “You May Say I’m A Dreamer” on the bass side of the rim, while the opening bars to “Imagine” are printed on the gold plate of the piano. A replica of John Lennon’s signature adorns the treble side of the fallboard while a medallion on the inner rim features John Lennon’s Japanese chop mark/signature as well as the series name and number.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of every Imagine piano will be donated to The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
