Amazon has released its first single malt – The 19-year-old Bowmore

If you’re in a mood to sample some exclusive high-end scotch, here’s what you need to do! Log on to Amazon, search for the Bowmore limited-edition 19-year old single malt, and well – Buy it! The Beam Suntory-owned Scotch brand has introduced the special whiskey just in time for the winters, by collaborating with Amazon for its exclusive sale.

Touted to be the first Amazon-exclusive Scotch whiskey bottling, the newest Bowmore whiskey has been aged for 19 years in first-fill ex-Chateau Lagrange French oak barriques, which makes it a novelty of sorts! It is said to offer aromas of candied apple, honey and light peat smoke with strong notes of “rich toffee, wild honey and exotic spices”. It also owns hints of summer fruits and warm peat smoke, which give the spirit a well-rounded touch. Commenting on the launch, David Turner, Bowmore distillery manager, said: ‘This unique new expression has been patiently aged for 19 years in French oak barriques to impart a richness of flavour that perfectly marries with the gentle peat that has made Bowmore so famous.”

He further added, “It’s the first time we’ve offered a whiskey of this age and maturation, we know everyone who buys a bottle will be rewarded with a liquid of exceptional flavor and character.” Bottled at 48.9% abv, only 4,500 bottles of Bowmore 19-Year-Old are available for purchase on Amazon for around £129 for a 700ml bottle. So if you’re willing to get your own Bowmore, you’d better hurry up!
