It seems as though macaron love is making its way into the fashion industry one step at a time. And this time Ladurée has done it again with his latest collaboration with Florentine fashion label, Emilio Pucci. The world renowned French confectioner’s previous special edition collaborations have included fragrant macarons for Nina Ricci, a colorful box that mimic Christian Louboutin shoes, and an edition for an anniversary celebration at Donna Karan New York among others. The partnership with Pucci will not only see the famous Pucci or Capri print on the boxes, which an aesthetically pleasing mixture of kaleidoscope and geometric designs, but will also have a newly created palate that has a Mediterranean feel to it. Yann Menguy, the new pastry chef at Ladurée, worked to create and design the pink and yellow colored lemon and rose flavored macarons, in the image of the designer brand.
Customers will be able to choose from a variety of box editions that include, a coral pink or turquoise blue paper box adorned with the Capri print, or the even more stylish silk wrapped box with the fabric supplied by the fashion house themselves.
From 25th February onwards, the paper boxes will be sold in all the Ladurée stores worldwide for 20 € per box of 8 pieces; while the silk wrapped ones are priced at 30 € for the same quantity but will only be available at the outlets in Milan, London, Paris, New York and Tokyo. Without the box, the macarons are 2 € a piece, though we couldn’t think of a reason why anyone would not get the whole deal?
