Milan universities to offer unique ‘food design degree

Already crowned as the fashion and design capital of the world, Milan diversifies and takes this title one step further. March 2015 will see the launch of the course “Master in Food Design,” a combined effort by Milan based Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) and International University of Languages and Media ( ILUM). The main objective of this course is to bring innovation to companies in the food sector. The SPD director believes that the only way to do this is to get managers, designers and food experts to work together. This will enable creating new products and providing clients with new experiences. After designing clothes and bags and shoes and accessories, the design world will now focus its attention on food. It is a known fact that food that is visually appealing is half the battle won. This course will enable their students to become professionals of the food industry, whether it be designing of the food or processing or marketing it. The course will be taught in Italian as well as in English.

This will be a one year course which includes 580 hours of lessons and a three month internship. For all those interested in the food industry this course in Milan may just be the answer.
