Renowned chocolatier Godiva has created a $7,000 Easter egg

Easter certainly calls for big celebrations and who better to know this than chocolate giant Godiva itself! After making delicious Easter goodies a reality for us each year, the company has decided to notch it up this time with a mother of all Easter Egg, that may be the largest and most tempting one that you have seen in a long long time!

Created by Cherish Finden, a Singaporean pastry master, who also happens to be a Godiva’s creative development chef, the ‘Atelier Egg’, as it is called is a sight for the eyes and certain enough for one’s taste buds! The gigantic chocolate egg weighs over 55 pounds, with 192 man-days roped into its making. It has been painstakingly crafted with the use of several specialized tools, with Finden’s expertise being the key-factor into its ultimate creation. Made quintessentially from dark chocolate, the egg also sees a white chocolate coating, further decorated with gold dust and chocolate pearls for a bejeweled finish.

It is said that the egg is created to pay homage to royalty, with the stately wedding coming up soon next month. Apart from this ‘larger than life’ Easter treat, Godiva also rolled special Easter eggs last month, each curated by well-known British chefs. However, if the smaller versions just don’t cut it for you, get ready to shell out $7000 to take this big Easter baby home! And before you that, don’t forget to catch all of Godiva’s Easter creations on display at its central London store.
