High tea in the afternoons at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong has always been one of sensation, scrumptiousness and scintillating. The latest in their offering is with heavenly Belgian Godiva Chocolatier. From October 1 until January 1, 2016, guests can go on a culinary expedition with the Sablés Fine Butter Biscuits Afternoon Tea at Café 103 of the hotel. There are five biscuit flavours inspired by Chef Chocolatier, Jean Apostolou’s elaborate travel expeditions across the globe.
The Sablés Fine Butter Biscuits Afternoon Tea – A Journey of the Senses includes the Macadamia Ginger Sablé from Oceania, the Ultimate Chocolate biscuit of Africa, the fabulous Pecan Chocolate Chip biscuit from the US, Asia’s Matcha Tea and Europe’s Almond Speculoos Sablé. The afternoon treats are comprised of four layers – a Sablés fine butter biscuit, sponge cake, varying toppings and matching garnishes.
As well as the biscuits, the hotel’s Executive Chef Peter Find has paired the dessert items with three savoury treats including Mini Sandwich, tangy capers cream cheese and freshly baked Waldkorn Bread with Sweetcorn.
Sablés (which means sand in French) is a European shortbread cookie. This with Godiva’s divine chocolate is a good enough reason to pack your bags with a few extra sized dresses. This isn’t the first time that the property has enticed its guests with sweetness that will make you go weak in the knee.
