The worlds most expensive margarita is coming to London and it has its own security staff

A Mexican restaurant in London is serving up a truly extravagant margarita priced at the eye-watering sum of £50,000 (That’s about $69,300). You can order this extravagant drink at Cantina Laredo in Covent Garden. The price includes not only some exceptional cocktail ingredients but also a 4.1-carat diamond – not sure if it adds to the flavor though.

The drink is comprised of 2 top shelf tequilas: the Jose Cuervo Platino and the 1800 Colección which retails for £2,000 ($2775) per bottle; and it swaps traditional limes for the juice of white pineapples and limequats (a lime kumquat hybrid). The drink is finished with the caviar-like flesh of finger limes which are indigenous to Australia. The drink is garnished with a pineapple flower and a diamond. I’d sip with a straw if I were you!

As with many specialty items, you have to place your order well in advance and two security guards will be on hand to protect that precious diamond!

Dean Ginsberg, of Cantina Laredo, said “A lot of thought has gone into the balance of flavors. And with the diamond, it would certainly be an interesting way to propose!”
