Just weeks after the announcement that Karl Lagerfeld was launching a makeup line with ModelCo, the German designer is revealed to have another very different collaboration in the works. This time it is with Christofle – a French company known for their fine silver flatware. Lagerfeld’s collection for Christofle will reflect his admiration of the Art Deco era; his flatware will be presented in two oval storage capsules that will feature Art Deco designs.
So far, we have no images, but WWD revealed that Lagerfeld’s collection will be part of Christofle’s Mood collection. Each item will be signed and numbered. The collection will be available for pre-order Stateside during New York Fashion week at select locations including the Christofle store on Madison Avenue, the Karl Lagerfeld store in SoHo and the two brands’ respective websites.
Lagerfeld seems to be one of those rare designers who is up for anything, it will be interesting to see what he brings to the more traditional house of Christofle.
